倘若您覺得讓 iTunes 、 iPod 橫掃世界的蘋果創辦人賈柏斯 Steve Jobs 平日在家中也是狂聽 iPod 或是用 Mac 中的 iTunes 播放音樂，那麼可能要參考一下美國知名搖滾唱將 Neil Young 的講法。日前 AllthingsD 舉辦了 D: Dive Into Media 論壇， Neil Young 在出席時除了批評數位科技降低了音樂的品質外，更透露了賈柏斯在家乃是聽黑膠唱片。
Neil Young 除了發表「唱片公司可以培養歌手，但是電子站台就不能，這就是何以我喜歡我唱片公司的原因」（What I like about record companies is that they present and nurture artists. That doesn’t exist on iTunes, it doesn’t exist on Amazon. That’s what a record company does, and that’s why I like my record company.）、「盜版音樂是新型態廣播電台，因為其讓音樂四處流傳」（Piracy is the new radio. That’s how music gets around.），還提到老賈。
Neil Young 透露了他渴望有一臺能夠提供高品質音樂的播放裝置，讓那些喜歡高品質音樂的人們可以有所選擇，而不是遷就目前的產品。他曾與老賈討論此事而且共同「working on it」，但在老賈過世前，並沒有太多進展。
Neil Young 認為，音樂界需要更為先進的技術，而且可能只有老賈才能辦到。畢竟身為數位音樂先驅者的老賈在過去的歲月中為人們留下了豐富的遺產，但是他自己回家後依然聽的是黑膠唱片。 Young 認為倘若老天多給老賈一些時間，老賈一定會繼續將更好的科技帶進音樂領域中。這段的原文是：「Steve Jobs as a pioneer of digital music, and his legacy is tremendous.
