Thermodo Smartphone Thermometer Hits Kickstarter (video):
Robocat has created a new miniature Thermodo smartphone thermometer, which has been specifically designed to be used with smartphones, and has just been launched over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website.
The new Thermodo smartphone thermometer consists of a passive temperature sensor built into a standard 4 pole audio jack encased in a robust housing, and complete with keyring carrier for when the Thermodo is not in use. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Fotodiox has this week unveiled a new addition to their Vizelex line, in the form of the RhinoCam adapter, which has been created to enable NEX camera owners to mount Pentax 645, Mamiya 645, or Hasselblad V lenses.
RhinoCam provides a massive increase in the sensor to 140 megapixels by moving the camera and sensor around in a precise pattern for multiple exposures, creating images that can then be stitched together, to create a 140 megapixel final photograph.

美國有一位病人 75% 的頭骨都是 3D 打印出來:

一位匿名的美國男病人剛剛「破了」一個紀錄，如無意外他是地球上首位植入 3D 打印頭骨的人呢。現在這位病人 75% 的新頭骨是早前經過 Oxford Performance Materials 掃瞄之後 3D 打印出來，現時技術讓到該公司掃瞄頭骨後兩個星期就可以印出頭骨了，是由美國食物及藥物管理局批准進行的。不過這塊打印出來的頭骨並不只是一塊聚醚（polyetherketoneketone）這麼簡單，它上面的小洞是用作鼓勵新細胞和骨骼生長。該公司指出目前美國有 500 名頭骨受損的病人適合進行這種手術，可是並沒有提及風險和費用等。

Samsung Electronics 高管稱 Windows 8 導致 PC 出貨量下滑: Samsung Electronics 記憶體業務總裁全東守（Jun Dong-soo）日前在首爾接受採訪時表達了自己對 Microsoft 最新系統 Windows 8 的不滿。在談到目前全球 PC 出貨量正在下滑的問題時全東守稱 Windows 8「並不比之前的 Windows Vista 好多少」，他們在市場區隔（market segment）中並沒有看到由 Windows 8 所帶來的業績提升。除此之外，全東守還將 Ultrabook 銷售不力歸咎於「Windows 平台的競爭力不足」。



鑒於上面提到的這些原因全東守主管的部門已經將重心從「傳統」（conventional）的記憶體晶片轉到了利潤更大、發展更快的行動晶片領域，這樣一來 Samsung 旗下的產品在行動裝置領域無疑將獲得更大的統治力（尤其是 Galaxy 系列）。聽上去似乎一切都順理成章，不過大家會都同意全總裁的觀點嗎？
