Watercolor Wedding Invitations from Fine Day Press:
Spring may still be playing a bit of hide and seek, but these days I’m craving anything colorful, floral, or both! So I was thrilled when Ashley from Fine Day Press sent over a few photos of her beautiful new watercolor wedding invitation collection. Ashley mixed modern typography with nature-inspired watercolor patterns, including several botanical designs. So pretty!

From Ashley: The new invitation collection combines lushly textured watercolor illustrations and modern typography (both of which can mix & match), all printed on thick cotton paper. The designs are flat-printed so they’re a bit easier on the budget than letterpress without sacrificing quality! Overall, the collection has a modern sensibility combined with the romantic feel of watercolor.

Minted Weddings Brunch

Minted Weddings Brunch:
Last week, Minted invited a small group of blog and magazine editors (including yours truly) to New York for a brunch introducing their new party decor and letterpress wedding invitation collections. You saw a tiny sneak peek on Friday – and more if you follow me on Instagram – but today I have the full set of photos to share with you! Even though it was a super quick trip, it was full of gorgeous inspiration and catching up with friends. Pretty much my idea of a perfect morning!

 

 

The party decor – from the menus and signs to the bunting and drink flags – came from Minted’s Matthiola collection created by Meg of Moglea. The decor was styled specifically for the brunch by Jenny Batt of Hank + Hunt.

 

Before we sat down to eat, Founder Mariam Naficy announced that Minted will reintroduce letterpress printing options, with a select range of wedding invitation designs available in up to 3 color letterpress. In addition, Minted will soon offer a digital rsvp service incorporating a couple’s invitation design, creating a completely cohesive experience for wedding guests.

Just looking at these photos makes me so happy! It was a cold and wet day in New York, but the Minted team did such a great job of making everything bright and cheerful inside. The new party decor, digital rsvp service, and letterpress wedding collection should be available on the Minted website soon. A big thanks to Minted for inviting me to participate in this event!

I really cannot have enough papercut pieces in my life, and these designs by Debbie Geddes of All Cut Up are so very beautiful. Each one is an original work of art, hand drawn and hand cut from a single sheet of paper. Amazing!

Raena + Dominic’s Art Deco Wedding Invitations

Raena + Dominic’s Art Deco Wedding Invitations:
I love design inspired by the Art Deco era – particularly when paired with a modern color palette like these wedding invitations from Nicole at Umama! Nicole mixed Art Deco-inspired patterns and lines with a very now soft aqua and gold color palette mixed with classic black and white. So pretty!

From Nicole: For this suite, I was really inspired by so many beautiful art pieces I have seen from the art deco time period, from the clean lines of buildings, to the geometric jewelry, to the modern renditions of the time period. The design features clean lines, a geometric print, and a soft aqua infused throughout the suite.

Wildflower Wedding Invitations from An Lim:
With spring right around the corner, I’ve been craving bright and vibrant color in any form. These wildflower wedding invitations from Vanessa An Lim are so perfect for spring and summer, with tons of saturated color and whimsical illustrations. So cheerful!

From Vanessa: As a former event planner, I have worked with many brides who wanted more than a two color palette for their weddings. They wanted something festive, colorful, and whimsical. I created this invitation so they could have fun with color. Something they could match with vibrant accents like paper flowers in an array of colors, mismatched china, or more organic accents like wood and simple greenery.

I’m a big fan of the beautiful illustrations and hand lettering work from artist Karolin Schnoor – her latest series of white fruit screen printed postcards is so pretty, and I love love love the fairy tale series of letterpress and gold foil prints. Gorgeous!
