“Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone” - John Steinbeck
I feel like the Steinbeck quote applies to our entire two weeks in Italy. I’ve been home for nearly two weeks and the entire trip still feels like an amazing dream. Above all, it was so wonderful to see my husband after three months apart, but heartbreakingly difficult to say goodbye for another three months when it came time to come back home. We visited Sorrento, Positano, and Rome, started each day with the most delicious cappuccinos, ate gelato every afternoon, had the most amazing pizzas we’ve ever tasted, and did an absolutely insane amount of walking in each city. Here are a few highlights from our trip…
Sorrento…
So much wisteria I could barely stand it…
Positano…
The view from our hotel room at the Villa delle Palme — so perfect…
Rome…
Vatican City…
We visited Rome and The Vatican just a couple days before the beatification of Pope John Paul II – the city was totally packed!
