Sony 正式退出與 Sharp 的 LCD 合資公司:
日本電子業正面臨著相當嚴重的經濟寒冬，而 Sharp 的情況更是不妙中的不妙。Sony 與 Sharp 位在堺市的合資工廠本來就已經消減產能在運轉，現在 Sony 又宣佈了將結束與 Sharp 的合資，以和當初的投資額相同的 100 億日元將手上的 7% 股票賣回給 Sharp。對 Sony 來說 100 億日元在這個時節不啻為一劑強心針，而 Sharp 則可以進行他們將大尺吋面板產線轉變為小尺吋面板的計畫。希望兩間公司都能因此而更加站穩腳步囉！

Peter Hauser has created a new concept for a smartwatch which connects directly to your iPhone smartphone and can provide you with alerts and updates as they come into your iPhone applications.
The difference between the cookoo and other smartwatchs which have been featured on Kickstarter and here on Geeky Gadgets. Is that the cookoo smartwatch is analog not digital or fitted with an e-ink screen. Seagate has today announced the purchase of computer hardware company LaCie offering to purchase Philippe Spruch, LaCie CEO’s 64.5% Ownership Position, for a price of $186 million.
LaCie well known for its external drives which we have featured hear on Geeky Gadgets will be a good match for Seagate who currently produces both internal and external storage drives, and is of the world’s largest manufacturers of hard disk drives.
